Almond Legals is an immigration and human rights law firm regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner, London United Kingdom. The firm is headed by Dr. Cosmas Ukachukwu Ikegwuruka who holds a PhD in International Human Rights Law from the Newcastle University (2017) and LLB (Hons-2:1) (2009) from the University of Huddersfield. He equally holds a bachelor’s degree in library science/Sociology (Hons-2:1) (1990) from Imo State University and a master’s degree in international law and Diplomacy (1997) from the University of Lagos Nigeria. He won the Kaplan Holborn College (University of Huddersfield) Merit Award 2007 and the Outstanding Scholar of the year 2007. Prior to the founding of Almond Legals and his subsequent PhD research, he worked as an Immigration Law Supervisor (practitioner) with Excel Solicitors and Graceland Solicitors London and during the time, he was in charge of the firms’ Immigration and Human Rights department graduating to the level of Practice Manager. Cosmas has made hundreds of appearances at Immigration Tribunals in the UK with interest on deportation and detention of migrants. He is known to have a mastery of representing clients at Tribunals, preparing and drafting skeleton argument, grounds of appeal in addition to the requisite research. He enjoys being a vehicle and conduit pipe of success for his clients, little wonder he is passionately electrified with a knack for industry and consistency. Cosmas is a prolific writer and researcher in Human Rights Law, International Human Rights Law and Migration Law. He has several publications which includes an academic text on deportation and other scholarly articles in high ranking journals. He actively participates in conferences and seminars and quite recently, he was appointed into the Editorial Board of International Journal of Law & Society (IJLS).
